New body-worn solution strengthens ICOM’s public safety portfolio in the U.S. and beyond, supporting business-critical communications for EMS and first responders.

At PMRExpo 2025, Europe’s leading trade fair for secure communications, ICOM introduced the CAM-100B, marking the company’s first foray into the body-worn camera segment. Alongside the launch of its IC-F3600D and IC-F4600D digital handheld transceiver series, the CAM-100B highlights ICOM’s continued commitment to delivering reliable, professional-grade solutions for public safety organizations.

The CAM-100B is designed to meet the rigorous demands of frontline professionals. It offers local memory recording, Wi-Fi live streaming, and advanced features such as ONVIF® Profile support, infrared night vision, GNSS integration, dual microphones with wind-noise reduction, and IP68 dust-tight and waterproof protection.

The camera can record continuously for over six hours, stream live for up to three hours, and includes a pre-recording function to capture critical events. Users can choose between an internal 64 GB memory version or a model with a microSD card slot.

While ICOM is entering the body camera market later than some competitors, it is expected that ICOM will leverage decades of experience in public safety communications. In the United States market, ICOM serves a substantial number of EMS organizations, providing a foundation to integrate the CAM-100B into existing operational workflows and communications networks. This positions ICOM to address emerging opportunities in body-worn video solutions, particularly for agencies seeking interoperable, dependable technology from a trusted public safety partner.

The CAM-100B will be available with ICOM’s BP-311 battery pack and MBB-8 belt clip, with an optional MBA-17 magnet mount for chest deployment. Its Wi-Fi 6 compatibility, enterprise-grade security, and fast roaming capabilities ensure seamless integration into modern communications environments.
