Hytera Supports Indonesia's First World Athletics Gold-Label Race

Curated by: Gert Jan Wolf - Editor-in Chief for The Critical Communications Review

Hytera Communications, a leading global provider of critical communications technologies and solutions, served as the Official Radio Communication Partner of myBCA Jakarta Running Festival 2026 (JRF 2026), held on October 24-25. Hytera provided professional communication solutions for event organizers, course personnel, and medical teams throughout the two-day festival.

Gathering more than 37,000 runners and attracting over 90,000 visitors, myBCA Jakarta Running Festival 2026 marked milestone as Indonesia's first road race to receive the World Athletics Road Race Gold Label. Managing an event of this scale required close coordination across crowded venues, multiple operational teams, and a marathon route stretching 42 kilometers through Jakarta.

To meet these different communication needs, Hytera provided a combination of professional two-way radios and Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) devices. The event organizer used TC-508 analog radios to ensure instant, interference-free local coordination in noisy, crowded environment. For wide-area coverage across the 42km city course, race management adopted P30 PoC radios to enable unlimited-range communication over 4G/LTE. Crucially, medical teams were equipped with high-end P50 Pro PoC radios, leveraging prioritized connections and GPS tracking to guarantee life-saving emergency response under any outdoor condition.
