West Midlands Police Enhances Operational Efficiency and Security Through Samsung Knox Suite Integration
The West Midlands Police, the second-largest territorial police force in England and Wales, has successfully modernized its mobile operations through the deployment of Samsung’s Knox Suite, driving a significant leap forward in efficiency, flexibility, and data security across the force.
Serving a population of approximately three million citizens with around 14,000 staff members, West Midlands Police required a mobile technology solution that could meet the rigorous demands of frontline policing. The organization implemented Samsung Knox Suite as part of a strategic initiative to ensure zero downtime, secure operations, and scalable device management.
According to the force’s IT leadership, the adoption of Knox Mobile Enrollment has revolutionized the process of deploying devices to officers. What previously took up to three hours can now be completed in under fifteen minutes, enabling faster rollout and minimizing operational disruption. The Knox Device Intelligence feature further enhances oversight, providing comprehensive visibility into device and software performance and allowing proactive management of potential vulnerabilities.
Security remains at the core of the West Midlands Police’s technology strategy. With Knox Platform for Enterprise and Knox Service Plugin, the force has strengthened control over device configurations, ensuring compliance with strict security standards while maintaining an optimal user experience for frontline personnel.
The collaboration with Samsung has also supported the police force’s transition toward a paperless environment, giving officers the ability to securely access critical systems and information directly from a single mobile device. This shift has improved the speed and accuracy of decision-making in the field, with information accessible within seconds.
Through this partnership, West Midlands Police has gained the flexibility to develop and deploy its own suite of nearly 200 custom applications tailored to operational needs. The close cooperation with Samsung has provided early access to technology insights, enabling the force to strategically plan future digital developments.
“Helping people is our core mission,” a West Midlands Police spokesperson stated. “With Samsung Knox technology, we can ensure our officers have reliable, secure, and efficient tools that empower them to serve the public more effectively.”
The collaboration exemplifies how strategic partnerships between public safety agencies and technology providers can drive digital transformation, enhance security, and streamline frontline operations.
