Eventide Communications Showcases Critical Insights AI and Mental Wellness Initiative at NENA and APCO 2025

Curated by: Gert Jan Wolf - Editor-in Chief for The Critical Communications Review

Eventide Communications will highlight its 2025 Mental Wellness Initiative at this year's top public safety conferences – NENA 2025, taking place June 21–26 in Long Beach, California, and APCO 2025, hosted July 27–30 at the Baltimore Convention Center. As part of its ongoing initiative, "Supporting staff. Caring for People," Eventide will feature Critical Insights AI, the company's AI-powered analytics suite designed to promote operational efficiency and support the mental wellness of emergency communications professionals.

Silent no more. Eventide Communications invites public safety professionals to share their mental wellness stories as part of its community engagement efforts at NENA and APCO 2025.

Not all pain is loud. Eventide Communications' mission is to provide meaningful, technology-driven tools that ease the administrative burden on emergency communication centers while helping supervisors and telecommunicators manage the psychological demands of their roles.

The Mental Wellness Initiative began at APCO International's 9-1-1 Wellness Summit in Portland, Oregon, in March 2025. Eventide's mission is to provide meaningful, technology-driven tools that ease the administrative burden on emergency communication centers while helping supervisors and telecommunicators manage the psychological demands of their roles.

At both conferences, attendees can visit Eventide's booth to experience a live demo of Critical Insights AI. This comprehensive suite of AI tools integrates with Eventide's NexLog DX-Series recorders and is trained on public safety data. It features real-time wellness tracking capabilities, including Eventide's patent-pending algorithms for determining the potential stress level a telecommunicator may have experienced during a call. This reporting can help center managers identify potentially high-stress calls and check in to provide pre-emptive care. This innovative technology includes automated QA, advanced search tools, and actionable insights that support decision-making and resource optimization. Critical Insights AI's Training Simulator replicates real-life emergency call scenarios in a controlled, educational environment. It allows new and experienced telecommunicators to practice critical call handling and dispatch decision-making skills, without impacting live operations.

"Technology should make hard jobs easier. Critical Insights AI is about giving telecommunicators a voice, simplifying supervisory workflows, and ensuring that our technology serves the people doing the work," said Brad Basile, Chief Operating Officer of Eventide Communications.

Eventide invites public safety professionals to share their mental wellness stories as part of its community engagement efforts. Monica Million, CEO of Million Consulting Services and former NENA President, will be available to talk one-on-one with attendees at both events. Million will also co-host the AI-Powered Wellness Breakout Session with Tiffany Carey, Eventide's National Channel Manager, on Wednesday from 3:30–4:30 p.m. at NENA 2025.

"Somebody finally did it," Million says of Critical Insights AI. "They put all of these tools on one serving platter and said, 'Here you go.' Supervisors need to know about the capabilities and ease it will bring to their day-to-day tasks."
