Sepura Apprentices are First Class

Two Sepura employees are celebrating completing their degree apprenticeships, having graduated with first class honours from their courses at Anglia Ruskin University.

Two Sepura employees are celebrating completing their degree apprenticeships, having graduated with first class honours from their courses at Anglia Ruskin University. Molly Peeters (left in picture) and Chloe Wesley (right in picture) both joined Sepura in 2016 and have been working to complete their apprenticeships while gaining valuable experience in key roles within the company.

Molly has received a BSc (Hons) in Digital and Technology Solutions, specialising in Cybersecurity. Having worked within the IT Desktop Team at Sepura during her course, from October she will start a new role as IT Service Analyst. In this new role she will be responsible for coordinating service calls relating to IT Security, risk and vulnerabilities, while developing our process and analysis capability.

Molly is now looking forward to developing her skills and knowledge in the IT security field and plans are in place for additional certification to support this transition. Karen Bellamy, IT Operations Manager at Sepura, said: “Molly has been an outstanding student and she has equally performed diligently within the IT Team, gaining many skills from hardware support to information leakage reporting as part of her dissertation. She has taken opportunities to elevate her responsibilities throughout her six years, meaning she is now in a position to take on a new and important professional role within the business.”

Molly commented: “Sepura has been very supportive and flexible with study days and supporting my work engaging with departments across the business. This has really helped develop my skills and put training to good use within the organisation, and I am lucky to have had such supportive colleagues across the business.”

Meanwhile Chloe has completed a Chartered Manager Degree receiving a BA (Hons) in Management and will be shortly starting her new role as Graduate Product Manager. This is also a new position, created to take advantage of the considerable skills she has amassed during her time at Sepura, and will see her taking responsibility for accessories from concept through to production. These are a key part of Sepura’s overall product portfolio and a significant contributor to the company’s revenue.

As part of her responsibilities, Chloe will help define requirements for new products, analyse and create business cases and arrange field trials while also supporting the existing accessories portfolio.

On receiving her results, Chloe was understandably delighted: “Sepura has given us wonderful opportunities to share business experiences and get insights into different practise areas within the organisation. This wider understanding of the business has really helped my product management skills and was crucial to my final work-based dissertation project.”

Chloe’s line manager John Drewnicki, Head of Accessories at Sepura, said: “Chloe has shown outstanding potential and has made a significant contribution to both the department and the company. We are delighted to offer her a new role within the team and we are proud of her progress and achievements over the last six years.”

HR Director Joe McHugh said: “It has been a privilege and a pleasure to follow Molly and Chloe’s progress at Sepura, both in their achievements in the workplace and in academia.  We are proud to recognise their outstanding achievement in gaining first class honours in their respective degree apprenticeships and we are also delighted that they are both continuing their career journeys with Sepura. Degree apprenticeships are an amazing vehicle to gain invaluable business experience and skills at the same time as achieving high level academic qualifications, and Molly and Chloe are superb role models for anyone considering a degree apprenticeship.”
