In order to ensure the safety of it's workers, the largest chocolate factory in the world, Barry Callebaut, located in Wieze, Belgium, is now switching to CommCheck as it's main communications platform.

The new communication system will replace the current digital communications radio system that could not fulfill the increased need for safety of the workers at the facility.

With more than 60 manufacturing facilities and more than 12.500 employees around the world, the Belgium facility is located in Wieze, and produces approximately 260,000 tons of chocolate each year and supplies the whole food industry, from large industrial companies and artisan processors to the retail sector. In order to streamline the production of chocolate, the facility has a maze of underground tunnels which makes clear and efficient communications difficult.

The new ComCheck communications system will help to ensure safety and security, especially when workers are walking in and out the underground tunnels that are located throughout the entire facility. Now, with installing 500+ beacons, the indoor location off each (lone) worker can be pinpointed in case of emergency.

Together with the communications infrastructure, C4i also delivered two types of radio devices from Telo Systems, the TE580 and TE590.

Last year October, C4IT, European distributor in the field of Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) launched its own communication platform 'CommCheck'. The multifunctional communication platform has been developed in-house and contains all the characteristics of a professional radio system, including the link to analog, DMR and Tetra. In addition, the CommCheck platform offers links with LoRA, SIGFOX, LTE-M and CCTV, among others.
