Telvent wins contract to supply thousands of handheld TETRA terminals to Canal de Isabel

Project includes the largest amount of terminals awarded by Canal de Isabel II

June 30, 2010 - Telvent (NASDAQ: TLVT), the IT company for a sustainable and secure world, announced that has been awarded a contract by Canal de Isabel II, a Madrid-based water utility, to provide hand-held TETRA terminals to the Integrated Emergency Mobile Communication System in the Madrid Region.


The project consists of supplying and commissioning several thousands of hand-portable terminals and accessories during the next four years. Telvent will install state-of-the-art terminals that will provide protection, welfare and security for the different bodies of the organization including: Madrid Region: Fire Brigades, Civil Defense, Local Police, BESCAM (Autonomous Police), Ambulances, Health Care and Environment.


TETRA communications ensure the call privacy within each organization, according to their specific profile. Moreover, TETRA provides capabilities and the necessary means to establish joint coordination of communications between the different bodies during large events or in the case of disaster.
