The Red Cross reported a positive result and has archieved more efficiency during journeys, faster communication and a better exchange of information.

Fourteen 112 ambulances in Wallonia, medical-sanitary transport and local teams on the ground... The French-speaking Red Cross in the province of Wallonia Belgium is fully equipped with ASTRID TETRA radios and pagers.

"The same applies to cooperation in special situations, both within the medical emergency plans and in our preventive activities," says Eddy Quensier, operational director of the emergency services of the French-speaking Red Cross.

The Red Cross reported a positive result and has archieved more efficiency during journeys, faster communication and a better exchange of information.

After the attacks of 22 March 2016 in Brussels, for example. "I was in constant contact with the Brussels and French-speaking Red Cross, Health and the people on site," says Eddy Quensier.

Other examples are; the Dour Music Festival, where the Red Cross has a temporary dispatching during the five festival days, the Formula 1 of Francorchamps and the many other events in which the Red Cross is involved in the course of the year.

ASTRID offers more than just technical added value. Operational added value, communication and human relationships also play a role.

"For example, during the Binche Carnival, we were able to call through a mobile mast from ASTRID in order to have better call quality from our dispatching center in the village of Rhisnes," Eddy Quensier concludes.
