Funkwerk AG Acquires Renowned Safety Technology and Electrical Engineering Specialist

Funkwerk AG, a leading technology provider of professional communication, information and security systems as well as technical services, has acquired GES - Gesellschaft für Elektro- und Sicherheitstechnik mbH & Co. KG, based in Munich. The previous shareholder decided to sell the company due to a lack of succession planning and is overseeing the transfer in close consultation with Funkwerk. The economic transfer took place on 2 January 2026 and the parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

GES has been an established installer of security and electrotechnical systems for many years and has extensive experience in the planning, installation and maintenance of sophisticated technical systems. The range of services includes fire alarm technology, intruder alarm technology, video surveillance and access control systems as well as electrical and network technology. The company mainly serves commercial and industrial customers, facility management companies and customers from the hotel and service sector.

Within the Funkwerk Group, GES will initially continue to operate as an independent company under the umbrella of Funkwerk Security Solutions GmbH (FSS), a subsidiary of Funkwerk AG. Operational continuity will be ensured by the existing management team, which will continue to be available to the company.

FSS is a leading provider of integrated security systems for critical infrastructures, industry and public institutions. With its own software platforms in the areas of video surveillance and hazard management as well as a nationwide presence, FSS stands for high-performance, scalable security solutions „Made in Germany“. The acquisition of GES strengthens the regional presence of Funkwerk and FSS in the economically important area of Munich and southern Bavaria and complements the existing service portfolio, particularly in fire alarm technology as well as electrical and network technology.
