ATDI Continues to Shape International Radiocommunication Regulations Through ITU-R Contributions

ATDI, a specialist provider of spectrum engineering, radio network planning and spectrum management software and consultancy, has continued to play an active role in the development of international radiocommunication regulations through its ongoing participation in the work of the International Telecommunication Union's Radiocommunication Sector (ITU-R).

Haim Mazar, who represents ATDI at the ITU in his capacity as Vice-Chairman of ITU-R Study Group 3, together with ATDI's spectrum engineering experts, contributed to the revision of Recommendations ITU-R F.1245-3 and ITU-R F.1571, as well as to the update of ITU CCT terminology. Both Recommendations relate to the technical characteristics and interference assessment of fixed radio-relay systems, an area in which ATDI has maintained long-standing technical involvement.

Beyond these Recommendation revisions, ATDI contributed to several further work items under the ITU-R framework. This included work supporting the collection of fixed wireless link performance data for weather-monitoring applications, reflecting the growing role of fixed radio links as a source of meteorological data.

The company also contributed to work examining the technical and operational characteristics of fixed service applications operating in the 450–700 GHz frequency range, an emerging area of spectrum use, as well as to studies addressing interference between airborne stations in the radionavigation service and fixed service stations.

These contributions form part of the continued development of international spectrum management and radiocommunication frameworks, an area in which ATDI has maintained an active technical presence within ITU-R study group activities.
