i.safe MOBILE IS541.1 Successfully Achieves ENENSYS eMBMS Certification for Critical Communications

Curated by: Gert Jan Wolf - Editor-in Chief for The Critical Communications Review

ENENSYS Technologies, leading provider of media delivery and critical communications solutions, is pleased to announce that the IS541.1 mobile device from i.safe MOBILE has successfully completed the ENENSYS eMBMS Public Safety device certification program. The IS541.1 is the first intrinsically safe 5G smartphone with 450 MHz support for use in Zone 1/21.

Finalized on April 21, 2026, this certification guarantees that the IS541.1, running on Android 14, seamlessly integrates the ENENSYS CubeAgent CC middleware (version 2.3.15). The device successfully passed the rigorous integration test plan on both Northbound and Southbound interfaces, officially making this certification available for Public Safety use.

This technical milestone arrives at a strategic moment, directly supporting the upcoming deployment of a large-scale, national eMBMS network in the Middle East, where mission-critical reliability is paramount.

As public safety agencies transition from legacy narrowband networks to broadband LTE and 5G, the need to transmit heavy data—such as high-definition video and complex maps—can quickly cause unicast network congestion. By integrating ENENSYS’s technology, the IS541.1 from i.safe MOBILE overcomes these limitations, offering frontline workers unparalleled communication capabilities.

The integration of the CubeAgent CC middleware brings several fundamental benefits to the IS541.1 device:

  • Scalability: The eMBMS technology allows the network to serve thousands of users in a dedicated area simultaneously with a single data stream.
  • Synchronized Delivery: ensures that all devices receive the exact same mission-critical message, video & data at the same time, eliminating communication delays during emergencies
  • CAPEX Optimization and Energy Efficiency: Multicast delivery significantly reduces the need for additional network resources. Furthermore, sending the same message once to a large number of devices is a much greener solution, resulting in lower energy usage.
