Kirisun to Introduce TD80 5G Dual-Mode MCX Terminal for Mission-Critical Communications
New rugged platform targets the next generation of broadband communications across public safety and critical industries.
Kirisun, a global provider of mission-critical communications solutions, is preparing to introduce its latest development of 3GPP standard based MCX device -TD80, a 5G dual-mode smart terminal, marking a further expansion of the company's focus on broadband communications for public safety and critical industries.
Designed for demanding operational environments, the TD80 is intended to bridge commercial 5G networks with dedicated 450MHz LTE private networks, providing organizations with greater flexibility in deploying secure and resilient broadband communications. The solution is aimed at sectors including public safety, firefighting, utilities, ports, airports and industrial operations.
The TD80 reflects the ongoing evolution of mission-critical communications, as organizations increasingly require broadband capabilities alongside traditional voice communications. Built around 3GPP Release 15 and designed to support Mission-Critical Services (MCX), the terminal is intended to support priority voice, video and data communications for frontline personnel.
“The combination of 5G NR and 450MHz private LTE is particularly suited to critical infrastructure environments where coverage, network control and communications resilience are essential.” Said Terry Lin, VP of Kirisun “The 450MHz capability is designed to support wide-area private-network deployments, while 5G provides the bandwidth required for applications such as real-time video, situational awareness and operational data.”
The rugged terminal is being developed for field personnel working in challenging conditions, incorporating a 4.7-inch Full HD display, high-power transmission, GNSS positioning, IP68 protection and a 7,600mAh battery.
Kirisun is also developing an explosion-proof version of TD80, extending the platform toward hazardous environments in sectors such as oil and gas, petrochemical and mining.
The upcoming TD80 forms part of Kirisun's broader move toward integrated broadband and mission-critical communications, supporting organizations as they transition toward more connected, data-driven operational environments.
Further details on the TD80 launch and availability are expected to be announced by Kirisun in due course.
