Hytera Completed Third-party Technology Verification for UAV Airborne Communications Systems

Hytera Communications participated in the emergency response drill and technology verification event organized by the Emergency Management Ministry of China and the China Fire and Rescue Institute.

The drill, held from October 27 to 30, 2023 in the highland area of China’s Southwestern province Sichuan, simulated emergencies of no access to the infrastructures of electricity, roads, and communications and verified the deployable communications systems on different Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) or drones.

Hytera brought the Portable PDT (Professional Digital Trunking) Base Station DS-6280E and the Portable Broadband Mesh Device E-mesh580P to the emergency drill site. Each of the two system was installed on both the fixed-wing UAV and twin-rotor UAV and tested separately. The drones with the payload were required to ascend 1,000 meters and fly over 5 kilometers. Synergized with airborne and ground satellite terminals, both DS-6280E and E-mesh580P accomplished connectivity with the Ministry’s control room in Beijing, the local control room in Muli country of Sichuan, and the test site.

The 370Mhz PDT Portable Base Station DS-6280E features a highly integrated structural design, making it compact, lightweight, and energy-efficient. The E-mesh580P, a new-generation broadband mesh device, can rapidly establish a reliable broadband network when the public network is not available; it connects to video devices or two-way radios via wired or wireless links and it can stream the onsite scenes to the control room in real-time.
