Intergraph Unveils New Headquarters, Celebrates 45thAnniversary
In observance of its 45th anniversary, Intergraph will unveil its new headquarters today during a special dedication ceremony on the Madison, Ala. campus.
The event, “New Traditions Start Here,” includes recognition from Hexagon, Intergraph’s parent brand, presentations by local dignitaries, tours of the building and a torch relay and lighting. Expected speakers include Hexagon President and CEO Ola Rollén; Melker Schörling, chairman of the board, Hexagon; Madison Mayor Troy Trulock; and Dale Strong, chairman of the Madison County Commission.
The new $58 million facility is a result of joint efforts between Intergraph and Hexagon to create work environments conducive to smart processes and workflow solutions. Intergraph, an enterprise engineering and geospatial software company with a unique history spanning nearly five decades, develops intelligent maps, assets and infrastructure technologies for businesses and government organizations. In 2010, it was acquired by Hexagon, a leading global provider of information technologies that drive dynamic decision making across industrial and geospatial applications.
The five-story, 250,000-square-foot building features office space for 1,100 Intergraph employees. The new building also includes a state-of-the-art data center, conference space, an expansive food service area and lakeside terraces.
“For the first time in Intergraph’s history, we are bringing employees at this location together under one roof, which I’m confident will foster innovation and camaraderie,” says Hexagon President and CEO Ola Rollén. “The building is a testament to Hexagon’s commitment to Intergraph and the Madison County business community.”
"Intergraph has been a good employer in Madison County for 45 years, and today is a continued celebration of the company's investment in Alabama with the opening of its new corporate headquarters," Alabama Governor Robert Bentley said.
Cooper Carry, an Atlanta-based architecture firm, created the building’s design, driven by the mission to transform Intergraph’s existing workplace into an integrated work community in a state-of-the-art facility. The firm provided workplace strategy, programming, landscape architecture, interior design and environmental graphic design for the project. Robins & Morton served as general contractor.
Unique features of the new facility, which will allow all employees on the Madison campus to be housed in the same building for the first time, include its lakeside setting, electric vehicle charging stations and improved bandwidth that will lend itself to faster Internet connections.
