City of London Police selects Airwave as their mobile data partner
Airwave is pleased to announce that the City of London Police has signed up to implement Kelvin Connect’s Pronto electronic notebook and suite of policing applications for their police officers.
Adding to recent customer wins, Airwave is pleased to announce that the City of London Police has signed up to implement Kelvin Connect’s Pronto electronic notebook and suite of policing applications for their police officers.
From the onset officers will be provided with devices pre-loaded with applications that will give them remote and mobile access to all local and national backend systems. These include the Police National Computer (PNC) as well as the force command and control and crime and intelligence systems.
In addition the City of London Police have requested a phased approach for the installation of their existing portfolio of policing process onto the devices and Airwave is working with them to prioritise the different applications in order to ensure a smooth transition.
“With Pronto, police officers can access vital backend systems from the frontline. They can key in information at the point of need and then reuse the information digitally for the full range of policing processes that are be available through the Pronto suite of applications,” says John Lewis, COO of Airwave.
“We are delighted that the City of London Police has chosen Pronto. This comes on the back of Dyfed-Powys and Devon and Cornwall Police who have also signed up,” adds John.
Chief Superintendent Dave McGinley of City of London Police said: “We are delighted to be working with Airwave. Key to our decision were the proven benefits of Pronto’s mobile data capability which is already being used by police forces throughout England, Scotland and Wales.” The programme with City of London Police will be managed and delivered by Airwave’s wholly owned subsidiary, Kelvin Connect.
