Bahrain Airport signs Digital Mobile Radio agreement

A five-year concession agreement was signed with United Commercial Agencies, who will provide an advanced Digital Mobile Radio solution (DMR) to be used across the stakeholder groups operating at the airport.

In line with its’ role of managing Bahrain International Airport as a world-class airport, Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) announced the signing of two contracts during Bahrain International Airshow 2014 which are set to further enhance the airport’s facilities and services. 

A five-year concession agreement was signed with United Commercial Agencies, who will provide an advanced Digital Mobile Radio solution (DMR) to be used across the stakeholder groups operating at the airport. This new technology will expand the capacity and quality of the radio system used at the airport.

This was followed by an agreement signing with Universal Enterprises for replacing the flooring at Bahrain International Airport. At a total cost of BD151 thousand (USD401 thousand) the current flooring will be replaced with a modern option to create a sophisticated and welcoming ambience for passengers as well as adding safety features to users at Bahrain International Airport.

The agreements are part of BAC’s immediate enhancement work at the airport, which is aiming to elevate the airport’s capabilities in keeping pace with the aviation growth.

The three esteemed organizations were represented by Chief Executive Officer of BAC Mr. Mohamed Yousif Al- Binfalah, Chief Executive Officer of United Commercial Agencies Mr. Manoj Bhatia, and Managing Director of Universal Enterprises Mr. Fawaz Al Mannai.
