The company is part of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group. Worldwide that conglomerate employs 110,000 people in 125 countries and manages sixty terminals worldwide, spread across five continents. The terminals alone provide employment for 20,000 people.

In Zeebrugge containers are loaded and unloaded from ships arriving from all over the world. Every year the APM terminal handles 950,000 containers and for this, it uses seven gantry cranes that extend 90 m into the air with a width range of 65 m (24 containers wide): that's why APM Terminals can handle the largest ships in the world.

The Port at Zeebrugge offers direct access to the European market. Located at the coast to the open sea, APM Terminals is situated very close to the most important shipping routes in North-Western Europe.

For communications in its daily operational activities APM Terminals makes use of Entropia Digital's radiocommunications network. This sets high demands on reliable, fast and clear communications.
