At the twentieth conference of the parties (known as COP20) of the United Nations framework convention on climate change (UNFCCC) the national police of peru and other relevant public safety agencies benefit from the Hytera TETRA system.

The international climate change conference COP20 is held in Lima from Monday 1st December to Friday 12th December, 2014. Ministers and high representatives of 195 countries and international organizations, along with roughly 15,000 visitors, gather in Lima to mark the 20th annual session of the COP20 – the governing body of the international convention.

The TETRA system provides secure and robust communications to police and safety agencies to ensure highest security during the event. In Lima Metropolitana y Callao 14 TETRA 2 DIB-R5 advanced sites and a geographically redundant IPN provide secure voice and data communications. Additionally two mobile communication control centers equipped with a rapid deployment DIB-500 R4.1 TETRA base station, a remote operation control center (TETRA dispatcher, an AVL-GIS station) and 300 PT580H Hytera TETRA portables have been strategically installed at the Army General Headquarters in the San Borja district in Lima.

Furthermore, the National Police have more than 3,500 PT580H TETRA terminals, more than 600 MT680 mobile terminals installed in the smart patrols and 300 police stations equipped with a fixed MT680 terminal in operation during the whole event.

To improve the response times in case of an event, Hytera has installed seven distributed operation control centers along Lima with applications like AVL-GIS, TETRA dispatcher and an integrated CCTV that are interconnected with the Main Emergency Control Center (105-911) equipped with more than 60 Hytera-APD dispatcher consoles.
