The First ISITEP (Inter System Interoperability for TETRA-TETRAPOL Networks) User Forum took place at the "Crowne Plaza Brussels - Le Palace" hotel in Brussels (Belgium), on the 24th of September 2014.

The event discussed and presented first year project results with Public Safety representatives, operators and all the relevant stakeholders.

According to ISITEP, this first User Forum was a success with more than 70 people attending the event. Most of attendees were stakeholders interested in understanding the project scope, the status of the activities and, most of all, to provide their feedback. The complete list of the registered attendees is available here.

Spontaneous and very interesting discussions arose during the whole one-day event. Most of the ISITEP Advisory Board members also joined the event animating the discussion and providing useful insights in real cross-border operative scenarios that can greatly benefit from ISITEP projects outcomes.

ISITEP is a large-scale integrating security and cooperation research project for the development of procedures, technology and legal agreements to achieve a cost effective solution for PPDR interoperability across Europe. Co-funded by the EC in the frame of the 7FP, ISITEP is carried out by a consortium comprising 15 partners with a budget of €16M in three years.

Started in 2013, the project aims to demonstrate full radio interface migration capability across TETRA and TETRAPOL networks. ISITEP end users will drive requirements to guarantee legal, operational and technical coherence. In addition, a legal agreement template will be proposed for approval based on the one already developed between Norway and Sweden within the project timeframe.
