Recipient of the Queen’s Ambulance Medal (QAM) in the New Year’s Honours 2013 and with over ten years’ experience as a chief executive, Hayden has a proven track record of delivering cost effective and high-quality services to the public and other stakeholders.

Prior to his appointment at EEAST, Hayden was the National Implementation Lead at the Department of Health on the development and implementation of ambulance performance standards. He is also a former Chief Executive of Kent Ambulance Service. He has been Chairman of the Association of Air Ambulances and President of the British Association of Public Communication Officers.
