New TETRA radios for the Norwegian NGO's - Voluntary sector

"This is an important step for the volunteer users of Nødnett. The NGO's now have more terminals so that users can apply them in areas where Nødnett is completed.

The results of the procurement of radio terminals for the Norwegian NGOs Rescue Academic Forum (FORF) is clear.

  • The company VHF Communications won the competition for radio terminal category A, light handheld with the STP9000 from manufacturer Sepura.
  • Motorola Solutions UK Limited won the competition for radio terminal category B, rugged handheld with the MTP3250 model.
  • TC Connect AS won the competition for radio terminal category C, C1 and G for the installation of radio terminals to the car, desk, boat, etc. with the mobile radio terminal MTM5400, from manufacturer Motorola.

 "This is an important step for the volunteer users of Nødnett. The NGO's now have more terminals so that users can apply them in areas where Nødnett is completed. The radio terminals are now used in more parts of the country", says marketing director Jostein Hesthammar the Directorate for Emergency Communication.
 
The contracts are for the delivery radio to organisations such as: Norwegian Alpine Rescue Groups , Norwegian Aero Club's air services , Scout Association preparedness team and Norwegian Radio Relay League.
