A notable aviation organization in the United Kingdom has recently implemented a Caltta ECS (Enhanced Conventional System) in an effort to improve its work efficiency and business critical communication capabilities.

The deployment was facilitated in collaboration with M.R.S. Communications, situated in Cardiff, and JustCom Distribution, the UK & Ireland distributor for Caltta. Together, they engaged with the aviation company to evaluate its current two-way radio communication infrastructure.

During preliminary dialogues, the facilities manager voiced apprehensions regarding the obsolete analog system, which had ceased to function. In light of the necessity to enhance safety and security measures throughout their expansive premises, the organization pursued contemporary digital radio communication solutions.

The aviation company operates in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of commercial aircraft engines; therefore, it is of the utmost importance that the highest standards of health and safety be maintained throughout its facilities. Due to the extensive workshop space of over 1.2 million square feet and the presence of nearly 950 employees, efficient communication is critical for the smooth functioning of the organization.

During the phase of collaborative planning, it became apparent that the organization needed a wide array of specialized communication channels to support different teams—including management, cleansing, security, and emergency response with priority access. In anticipation of forthcoming scalability requirements, the Caltta ECS trunking system surfaced as the optimal resolution. The ECS system is specifically designed to enable the concurrent operation of numerous traditional radio channels from a single location, thereby maximizing channel utilization and equilibrium.

The facilities manager demonstrated specific interest in the two-way radios from the Caltta PH660 and PH600 series due to their compact dimensions, robust construction, and extended battery life. In order to achieve extensive coverage throughout the vast site, the installation incorporated a series of Caltta PR900 repeaters that were linked together using microwave connections.

After the effective execution, the system received favorable evaluations, which in turn stimulated dialogues regarding the incorporation of supplementary communication channels to augment dependable and streamlined interactions among various departments.
