PowerTrunk, Inc., in collaboration with local partner Williams Communication Services, presented a “PowerTrunk Day” seminar on the 18th of October 2022 in Toronto at the Delta Hotel by Marriott.  The event was an opportunity for attendees to learn more about PowerTrunk’s mission-critical communications product portfolio, based on digital TETRA technology, as well as about the details and status of various TETRA project references in Canada and the US.

Taking into consideration that Williams Communication Services is a 100% Aboriginal / Minority Owned business in Canada, the seminar was opened with a welcoming ceremony performed by Anishinaabe Ancestral Knowledge Keeper and Traditional Grandmother Kim Wheatly.  She is Anishinaabe and Potawatomie from the Shawanaga First Nation Reserve.

This was followed by a series of presentations concerning PowerTrunk’s TETRA solutions, product updates, and several case studies for the public safety, public transportation, airports, utilities, and mining sectors.  Furthermore, Williams Communications Services, who was recently awarded a contract by the Government of Ontario to provide PowerTrunk TETRA network infrastructure and related user radio equipment for a total of 31 correctional facilities, gave the audience an overview their managed services and system integration capabilities.

David McIntyre, President of Williams Communication, felt that the seminar in Toronto was a great success and commented, “TETRA is a mature technology that Williams Communications endorses for use in public safety and critical network operations, and we look forward to implementing TETRA with our partners.”

Ignacio Callen, PowerTrunk Senior Vice President of Sales said, “We are pleased to have had the chance to hold this PowerTrunk Day event for the first time in Toronto and to personally meet and share the details of several of our success stories for mission-critical communications solutions with all of the attendees here in Canada.”
