PowerTrunk, Inc. announces that it is providing an expansion to the existing Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) TETRA network in order to accommodate coverage for the new Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit (ECLRT) project.

The Eglinton LRT project is a light rail transit line of approximately 12 miles in length, including 6 miles underground, owned by Metrolinx and operated by TTC. The new line will include 25 stops and stations linking to bus routes, three subway stations, and various GO Transit lines.

PowerTrunk is supplying 4 additional TETRA site base stations for the TTC network expansion. Two of the base stations will be implemented for underground radio coverage for new line, and the other two for enhancing the existing outdoor coverage of the TTC system in the Toronto area.

The ECLRT project will also include around 300 TETRA radios, including on-board train radios, handheld subscriber units, and mobile radio terminals.

“We are delighted to continue serving TTC for all its TETRA network expansions, this time relating to the new Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit project”, said PowerTrunk CEO Jose Martin.
