Motorola Solutions Releases Corporate Responsibility Report 2018

Last week, Motorola Solutions released its 2018 Corporate Responsibility Report, which demonstrates the company’s global commitment to sustainability and highlights key areas of progress from the year. The report provides metrics and goals in areas that impact employees, customers, the community and the environment, with an emphasis on issues of interest to investors and members of the financial community.

Here are several highlights from Motorola Solutions’ 2018 corporate responsibility efforts:

  • Invested $9.5 million globally in learning and development
  • Bolstered cybersecurity capabilities with the appointment of more than 150 employee “cyber champions” dedicated to implementing security best practices and protecting customer and company data
  • Dedicated a total of 39,000 employee volunteer hours, with international volunteer projects more than doubling from 2017
  • Implemented energy savings measures that resulted in energy savings of almost 1.7 kilowatt-hours and a cost savings of nearly $300,000

Additionally, in 2018, the company introduced a new custom greenhouse gas emission tracking tool and added board responsibility for reviewing the company's environmental, social and governance strategy, initiatives and policies.

Motorola Solutions was also recognized by Barron’s (100 Most Sustainable Companies), Points of Light (“Civic 50” Most Community-Minded U.S. Companies), FTSE4Good Index Series and Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index.
