Hytera presented its new VM550 for the first time at the PMRExpo Exhibition in Cologne, taking place from 27 to 29 November in the city of Cologne, Germany.

The bodycam, which weighs less than 170 grams, is a compact version of the VM685 in a handy size while still meeting the highest of expectations with its functionality.

The new VM550 combines multiple functions in just one device: The high-resolution camera allows you to record images and videos in HD quality, while the 2 W speaker microphone (wireless Bluetooth) guarantees clear audio playback and recording at all times – even in loud environments. Radio calls can be quickly and easily made via the large Push-To-Talk button.

Equipped with a powerful, rapid-charging battery, the VM550 alone can record up to seven hours of video and has a standby time of up to 200 hours. Thanks to its compact size and low weight, Hytera's new body-worn camera fits into almost any pocket. This makes it the ideal companion for an extremely wide range of uses for which comprehensive photographic documentation is required to ensure the preservation of evidence. Images and videos can be saved from the camera either via USB cable, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

The VM550 is so robust that it effortlessly complies with the MIL-STD810 G and IP67 standards, and even performs to an excellent standard in harsh environments. The VM550 body-worn camera is compatible with the Hytera PTC760 and PDC760 Multi-mode Advanced Radios and with the PD985 and PD785 DMR radios.

A short overview of the highlights of the VM550:
