RadioCom announced that the company is proud to have delivered the first TETRA pager in Denmark.

On Thursday, 27 June 2013 RadioCom delivered the first TETRA pager in Denmark to the Bornholm Fire brigade. The Fire Brigade trialled the TETRA pager for the first time during an Emergency managers' annual meeting in Fredericia in August 2012, but at that time the pager was not certified, and they chose to continue a little longer with their existing solution.

The TETRA pager from RadioCom Denmark was ITS certified, and as a result of that the Bornholm Fire decided to invest in a few of them. Call out to the pager is encrypted so that unauthorized persons can not gain access to information that is sent to the pager.

The next period  will be used to test the pagers on the island, as threre are often areas without much connection. The fire department is looking forward to being able to get a shorter communication path and thereby save time. In the long term, they hope to be able to save some money available to cover teh for operating costs by moving away from running their own network. Today the brigade uses cell phones often to pass messages, but there is not always coverage.
