Sepura announces the contract award to its partner Selectric Nachrichten-Systeme GmbH for the delivery of up to 37,0000 Sepura TETRA radios to the German federal state of Rheinland-Pfalz.  This substantial contract win closely follows last month’s announcement which put Selectric and Sepura in the spotlight once again for the award of the contract from the German federal state of Saarland.

The overall value of the contract with Rheinland-Pfalz amounts to €15.7m and covers a four year framework agreement with the potential for extension by an additional year. Sepura radios will be supplied to all public safety users in the state including Police, Fire Brigades and Rescue Services.  The 37,000 TETRA terminals will include approximately 25,000 STP8000 and STP8200 hand-portables, 10,000 SRG3900 mobile radios and 1,900 desktop terminals.

Launched at the TETRA World Congress in Singapore in May this year, Sepura’s STP8200 hand-portable radio has already received accolades from customers from a wide variety of sectors world-wide.  It combines essential TETRA and PMR (Private Mobile Radio) features, and the simplicity, ruggedness and high performance which make Sepura’s STP series perfect for established Public Safety markets.  In addition, the radio’s streamlined user interface and monochrome display, visible under direct sunlight, also make it an attractive option for government organisations, campuses, hotels, transport and utilities.
