Critical communications supplier Tait Brazil has secured multinational energy company Petrobras as foundation customer for its new network support offering.

Tait Brazil is a subsidiary of international technology company Tait Communications. Tait mobile radio networks, equipment and multi-bearer convergence technologies are used by first-responder organisations throughout Central and South America.

Petrobras has Tait Communications two-way radio networks at five of its large petrochemical refinery sites in Brazil and recently contracted Tait to begin supporting those networks with a monitoring, maintenance and performance-reporting service. The principal service centre is based alongside Tait's Sao Paulo commercial office, with technical support available regionally to quickly respond to any issues.

"We are extremely pleased to now offer network-monitoring and support services and to have such an illustrious customer as Petrobras come aboard as our foundation customer," says Deivi Luchetta, Managing Director of Tait Brazil. "It is gratifying to have this confidence shown in our capability."

Mr Luchetta is confident the quality of monitoring, advice and reporting is more than equal to any alternative available in the region and looks forward to onboarding additional customers.

"Until now, there has been little choice available to customers in the region seeking around-the-clock quality support," Mr Luchetta says. "As a result, the tariffs have been among the most expensive in the world. In entering the services market, we aim to lift the quality of service and to do that in a cost-competitive way. I look forward to speaking to anyone interested in learning how we may help them."
