Ørsted A/S, a Danish company that develops, constructs and operates offshore and onshore wind farms has chosen Atcom and Celab to develop an integrated  communication solution for the HR2 wind farm.

Ørsted A/S has signed an agreement with Atcom ApS and Celab Communications Danmark A/S regarding the implementation of new management platform and upgrade of existing Tetra system. The new communication solution will enhance safety of Ørsted's Horns Rev 2 wind farm (the first large scale offshore wind farm in the world) in the North Sea and communications with the operations in the port of Esbjerg.

The solution includes Celab Four:C Dispatch with a so-called "people tracking" functionality that will mainly be used to secure employees by registering and locating maintenance personnel on Ørsted's vessels and wind turbines in the North Sea. In addition to the dispatcher solution, the existing Tetra system will also be updated for better call quality and data transfer between the wind farm and Ørsted's head office in Esbjerg. The new solution gives Ørsted a better overview of where individual employees are, whether they are in the port, on board a service vessel, at a wind turbine or on the housing platform.

Atcom and Celab have recently begun a collaboration to provide intelligent solutions and products to the "sustainable energy" segment and are launching the partnership with the delivery to Ørsted A/S.

Morten Parning, CEO of Celab Communications Denmark A/S: “At Celab Communications we are very pleased that Ørsted A / S has chosen our FOUR: C product to solve these two important tasks. We have had a good dialogue with Ørsted about the needs, and the tasks provided are fully in line with the portfolio that Celab has built up in the Scandinavian countries for many years. We look forward to an exciting collaboration with Ørsted in the time ahead ”.
