Missouri’s first responders are getting a major boost in their wireless communications with the addition of new, purpose-built FirstNet(link is external) cell sites in 18 counties across the state. This new infrastructure is a part of the FirstNet network expansion taking place across the state, bringing increased coverage, capacity and capabilities for public safety which already added over 40 cell sites throughout rural Missouri during 2020.

The new purpose-built FirstNet cell sites were requested by the state of Missouri when it signed on to FirstNet and these cell sites have been delivered two years ahead of schedule.

“Emergencies happen every day, and when they do, time is critical,” said Mike Parson, Governor of Missouri. “The state of Missouri is excited to collaborate with AT&T and FirstNet as we continue to build out this public safety network. FirstNet keeps our first responders connected when it matters most.”
