Hexagon’s Safety & Infrastructure division announced today Germany’s Federal State of Rhineland-Palatinate has selected Hexagon’s industry-leading computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and mobile public safety solutions to support state police, fire and EMS agencies. The move to a unified system will enhance collaboration and communication across agencies, enabling greater efficiency in response to more than 6,000 calls for service per day.

An integral part of the state’s Central Command & Control Center Infrastructure program, the Hexagon solutions will help consolidate siloed technologies across public safety agencies. Hexagon's solutions replace the existing, isolated call-taking and incident management systems in the control centers and ensure standardized CAD equipment that is geared toward coherent operational, technical and organizational standards. These new components strengthen the cooperation between authorities and organizations with security tasks and enable cross-control center work within a control center network.

The centralized solutions will improve the flow of information between more than 60,000 command and control center employees, agency staff and first responders in the field, resulting in faster responses and increased operational quality for day-to-day incidents and major events.

“More than 4 million citizens depend on our state’s police, fire and emergency medical technicians,” said Ralf Steinbrink, detective superintendent of the Rhineland-Palatinate state police and head the Central Command & Control Center Infrastructure program. “Hexagon's fully integrated solutions will enable us to better collaborate and optimize our service to citizens.”

“The three tenants to achieving safer, more resilient communities is connectivity between systems, collaboration between teams and greater intelligence in operations,” said Maximilian Weber, senior vice president of EMEA for Hexagon’s Safety & Infrastructure division. “The initiatives of the Federal State of Rhineland-Palatinate police, fire and EMS agencies are a shining example of these principles in action, and we are proud to support their public safety efforts.”
