1. A tactical IP-Radio with LTE capabilities
To answer the growing needs of resilience and seamless connectivity, we enhanced our communication hub with several key innovations: the simultaneous use of multiple LTE networks, enabling uninterrupted connectivity for mission-critical applications, and the development of a robust IP radio for local communication, built on standard civilian technologies while meeting military-grade performance requirements.
The Lifelink Echo (Enhanced Communication Hub for Tactical Operations) is a man-portable IP-Radio designed for mission-critical communications. It supports standalone MCPTT, geolocation, and messaging, and can also provide IP connectivity to Android-based smartphones or tablets. Tailored for military personnel and public safety operators, Lifelink Echo is a versatile solution designed to adapt to a wide range of operational scenarios.
Key capabilities include:
- Device-to-device (D2D) communication and relay mode, enabling local connectivity even in the absence of LTE networks. Whether users are operating indoors, outdoors, or underground, this feature ensures an added layer of resilience.
- Optional in-built Push-to-Talk (PTT) application from Eviden and compatibility with PTT devices from selected vendors, allowing operation without the need for a connected mobile phone.
- Dual LTE connectivity, supporting both public Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and private mobile networks. Resilience between public and private LTE can be configured based on mission requirements.
Engineered for harsh environments, the device is ruggedized, compact, portable, and IP68 certified. It features AES-256 encryption for secure D2D communication and does not store data locally, minimizing risk if the device is lost. Acting either as a tactical IP radio or a communication hub, the Lifelink Echo is part of Eviden’s Lifelink product range and is purpose-built to maintain secure and resilient communications between team members—whether in defense operations or public safety missions.
