Hungarian TETRA Operator Pro-M Zrt. Expands its Role

Pro-M Zrt., the TETRA service provider for law enforcement agencies recently joined a roundtable discussion at The Information Society Parliament, to share its ideas on counter terrorism.

In the framework of its service provision activity Pro-M Zrt. performs obligations specified by law, providing a reliable and secure communications services. This role remained static for years, but the regulator has realized that protection against terrorism requires flexible and dynamic expansion of the communication services adapted to the changes of life, consequently also the expansion of the role of Pro-M Zrt.

Besides providing ever better and more and more efficient modern equipment and technical solutions for Hungarian law enforcement organizations, Pro-M Zrt. also added to its client base companies that operate critical systems and provide key public services. Therefore it was highly useful for Pro-M Zrt. to get acquainted with the work of the event organizers during the roundtable discussion. The talks clearly highlighted that the different contributors have long realized the growing threats of terrorism and the need for co-operation. It was emphazeized that they actively rely on the state-of-the-art communication tools which is the communication service provided by Pro-M Zrt.

In the context of mass events and terrorist threats present today, the participants agreed that 100% security does not exist. Terrorists are always pushing one step ahead of defense, always developing new and emerging methods. However, defense actors are greatly assisted by their many years of experience and the state-of-the-art technical tools at their disposal in order to fight terrorism. During the session it was made clear that the service of Pro-M Zrt. also provides assistance to this.

Yet, the participants also agreed that preparation and modern technology in themselves would be insufficient without the understanding and cooperation of the actors. Therefore Pro-M Zrt. as a state-of-the-art government communications service provider, said that it is happy to share its experience with those interested helping to counteract terrorism.
