Customized Hytera TETRA Solution Benefits Ras Al Khair Plant in Saudi Arabia

Hytera announced that it has successfully delivered its TETRA solution to Ras Al Khair Plant of Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Ras Al Khair desalination plant is the largest of its kind in the world – a combined power and desalination plant converting more than 1 billion liters of seawater into potable water each day and 2400 MW of electricity for the eastern province of Saudi Arabia. The plant locates in the Ras Al Khair Industrial City, 75km north-west of Jubail.

The daily operation and management of the plant relies on instant and reliable radio communication, hazardous environment (explosive gas) in certain areas gives special requirements to the radio terminals which must be intrinsically safe.

The TETRA solution provided by Hytera was elaborately customized with 320-380 Mhz band frequency to meet the special demand of customer. And the design of redundancy and hot-backup fully complies with the requirement of High Commission for Industrial Security (HCIS) of KSA. In addition, the latest intrinsically safe TETRA portable radio PT790Ex was also offered to provide the highest level of safe protection.

Upon the completion of system installation, Site Acceptance Test (SAT) was done to demonstrate the features and functions. And on-site training was conducted to coach the plant managers how to use the system properly and further improve their working efficiency and safety. Hytera’s professionalism and project execution capability has won the recognition from the customer.
