Sepura is delighted to announce that it has won the accolade of Turnaround of the Year at the PLC Awards 2012.

The award celebrates an innovative business that is “strongly positioned for future growth”, and recognises the successful implementation of Sepura’s various strategies for growth, including the acquisition of 3T Communications and expansion into emerging markets through the development of its award-winning Intrinsically Safe ATEX radios.

The PLC Awards were established 27 years ago to celebrate the best in the mid-market business sector and to underline its importance to the UK economy. This year’s shortlist saw 18 businesses compete for nine awards at a glittering gala dinner attended by more than 1000 guests, including quoted companies, investment banks, fund managers, investment analysts, and corporate advisers.

“Businesses in the mid-market are a key cog in the engine driving the British economy,” said David Snell, partner, PwC.

“These companies remain an integral part of the UK’s drive towards a complete financial recovery. Both the winners and those nominated stood out from a record number of companies nominated by the UK business community.”

“Of course we are absolutely delighted to win this award,” said Gordon Watling, CEO, Sepura.

“We’ve had a very successful year, and to have that officially recognised is extremely gratifying. These are exciting times for Sepura, and this award serves as confirmation of our positive trajectory and, I hope, an indication of the many good things still to come.”
