The framework agreement for pagers was also extended for a year and runs until October 14, 2012

ASTRID, the operator for the Belgian Public Safety TETRA network, announced that they will extend the current framework contract for radios with a further year. Until January 7, 2013 end-users are able, without initiating a new public tender, purchase TETRA Radios against favourable conditions from three different suppliers. (Abiom - Deboosere Telecom, etc).

The framework contract contains fourteen different devices included in six categories, so each user in the framework agreement is able to purchase its favourable device:

  • Standard portable radios
  • Heavy duty portable radios
  • Portable radios with simple keyboard
  • ATEX portable radios
  • Mobile and fixed radios
  • Data radios

Before a framework can be initiated, ASTRID validates and analyze the devices according to a wide range of criteria. The best devices are included in the framework agreement.

Last year for pagers!
The framework agreement for pagers was also extended for a year and runs until October 14, 2012. Thereafter there will no new framework agreement in place. There was little use of the framework agreement for pagers, perhaps because the devices are relatively cheap and the purchase procedure is less cumbersome.

The framework agreement for GEO-rapporting tool was also extended for a year and runs now until October 14, 2012.
