Communications during he first ever OMAN by UTMB®, a mountain ultramarathon trail-running event was secured by Hytera.

The UTMB® mountain ultramarathon is widely regarded as one of the most difficult foot races in the world. This year, the 3-day event took place in Sultanate of Oman, the Arab world, for the first time ever, and was hosted by Oman Sail, who required resilient radio communications services during a non-stop rugged 137km trail-running adventure along mountain top ridges, through villages, palm plantations, deep wadis and narrow gorges.

Thanks to rich hands-on experience in securing international sporting events, Hytera and its local partner, Mustafa Sultan Telecommunications Co. L.L.C., quickly set up a DMR conventional network comprising multiple DMR repeaters, mobile radios, and portables to offer high quality and no-break narrowband voice services throughout the mountainous terrain.

Race managers, command center managers, radio dispatchers and relevant staff from the organizer Oman Sail, therefore, achieved best team coordination to ensure the success of the extraordinary and challenging sporting event.
