President Joko Widodo, accompanied by his Cabinet ministers and dozens of VVIP guests, officially inaugurated Indonesia’s first MRT line in Jakarta last Sunday.

Hytera, together with its partner NEC, supplied its MRT communication solution for MRT Jakarta Line 1 Phase 1.

MRT Line 1 , Phase 1 connects Lebak Bulus and Bundaran HI with a total length of 15.7 km and consists of 13 stations (7 elevated stations and 6 underground stations). The MRT line is estimated to serve 212,000 passengers per day and the expected capacity may be maxed out to 960,000 per day.

Hytera supplied its mature Metro Communication Solution to equip the project, that featured Tetra trunking system with full redundancy, highly customized train borne radio, innovative dispatch and control system, as well as flexible frequency planning method. This highly tailored one-stop solution ensures smooth communication among train driver, station stop and control center. A reliable coverage design including ground, tunnel and building communications was also implemented.

“If without these radio, we will be facing some lack of communication, from train driver cannot communicate with operation center, and the operation center cannot communicate with the station stop. We will be facing a lot of difficulties if we don't have good radio. Another reason that we select Hytera is because interoperability must be good enough… …

Honestly speaking, so far personally I am satisfied with Hytera for the technical support. It is very good for our project as we can go directly and coordinate with Hytera, our manufacturer .” Said Mr. Yanto Yulianto, Department Head of Signaling, Telecommunication & IT, PT. MRT Jakarta.

The inauguration from the president Jokowi marks the MRT line officially in operation.
