Ericsson and MUGLER Enter New Private Networks Partnership

Curated by: Gert Jan Wolf - Editor-in Chief for The Critical Communications Review

MUGLER has selected Ericsson to provide next generation 5G private cellular networks in Germany

A broad range of industries in Germany are set to benefit from a new 5G private network partnership between Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) and the European telco network provider and system integrator MUGLER, building upon a successful collaboration in private campus networks. The new private networks will be powered by Ericsson Private 5G, providing reliable, secure, and agile connectivity to support the adoption, use and scaling of new and emerging data-driven technologies.

Ericsson Private 5G enables advanced operations through automation, flexibility and intelligent connectivity. Using a single server 5G dedicated network based on a dual mode core facilitates both LTE and 5G Standalone (SA) simultaneously.

The solution’s high availability, low latency networking, strong resiliency and high security standard, will further empower the nation’s digital transformation across a wide range of sectors including manufacturing, energy utilities, offshore and processing industries, ports, airports, healthcare, and more.

Potential use cases include: the use of digital twins to optimize manufacturing operations, such as tracking assets and real-time automation to improve productivity, more efficient quality inspections via augmented reality, and smart surveillance drones to increase worker safety, particularly in potentially hazardous environments such as ports and mines.
