FirstNet connecting more First Responders across Washington

Curated by: Gert Jan Wolf - Editor-in Chief for The Critical Communications Review

FirstNet has moved quickly to bring more coverage, boost capacity and drive new capabilities for Washington first responders and the communities they serve – rural, urban and tribal.

First responders in more than 130 communities across Washington are using FirstNet to stay mission ready. Since launching FirstNet,  coverage area has grown by nearly 40% in Washington. And with Band 14 deployed on over 1,000 sites, Washington first responders in communities such as Seattle, Yakima County, Spokane County, Bremerton, Kittitas County, Olympia, Pacific County, Richland-Kennewick, Tacoma and Whitman are currently benefitting from the truly dedicated coverage and capacity it provides when they need it.

And more Washington first responders are gaining access to 5G experience on FirstNet. 5G connectivity on FirstNet is now available in Redmond. Public safety also has access to 5G+ (mmWave) spectrum in the multipurpose entertainment arena and in the downtown Seattle stadium.
