Greater range on the Hytera TETRA radio system for the Jakarta metropolitan area: Together with Rohde & Schwarz Indonesia, Hytera Mobilfunk GmbH has expanded the existing radio network of an Indonesian government agency.

Also in use: Hytera's innovative PTTconnect application, which ensures more secure and flexible communication of radio devices – even across the boundaries of the TETRA network.

2018-01-03_Pressemitteilung_Hytera_KPK-PTTconnectThe particular focus of this network expansion was providing a good, tap-proof, and reliable radio network for the use of hand-held radio devices in the area, and therefore on the simplification of workflows. The Hytera solution fulfills these requirements easily, and also offers a very special practical feature that makes communication much easier: Thanks to the Hytera application PTTconnect, Indonesian government employees can now even make contact with colleagues on their own TETRA radio network from far away and vice versa: Employees on- site can reach decision-makers 24/7 via an absolutely secure means of communication – entirely regardless of where they happen to be at the time of the call. This is very easy with their smartphones.

PTTconnect connects the independent TETRA system to a mobile broadband network such as UMTS or LTE. This flexible and versatile application is the ideal complement for the use of radio systems in critical deployment environments.

The app includes many functions, it is easy to use, and very user-friendly. PTTconnect can be used on any smartphone running the Android operating system and guarantees tap-proof communication between parties in both wireless network worlds. Of course the app supports the invaluable characteristics of a TETRA radio system, including individual and group calls, priority-setting, and emergency calls, for example.

"We are very proud to be able to assist Indonesian government agencies with our innovative solutions and therefore to make a contribution to improving security in the city," says Frank Pauer, Deputy CSO at Hytera Mobilfunk.
