The LTE and TETRA fully integration is achieved from the beginning of the design process to the system operation itself. In fact, this is one of the prime advantages of Teltronic solution, providing an infrastructure with two radio accesses in a seamless manner.

Network Management System (NMS) illustrates very well this design philosophy. The NMS enables system administrators to configure, manage and monitor both TETRA and LTE planes with regard to network users, system architecture and configuration, performance, permissions, call history… from a unified software tool.

And not only the system administration, but also the radio equipment installation and maintenance has been taken into account in the solution design. A common hardware platform for base station can be used to run narrowband technology and broadband LTE. With the same form factor, reduced dimensions and being outdoor ready, both TETRA and LTE base stations can be mounted in the same mast, connected to the same power supply and attached with the same screws, and even spare parts can be shared.

With reference to the core network, composed of main controllers and system nodes, installation seeks to guarantee simplicity. With a mere extension of new boards (if the new dimensioning requires) and a software update for the Network Management Tool, you can see how a TETRA node turns into a TETRA+LTE controller.
