German PMeV Appoints Bernhard Klinger as New Executive Chairman
Bernhard Klinger has become the new Executive Chairman of PMeV – NETWORK FOR SECURE COMMUNICATIONS (German Federal Association of Professional Mobile Radio / Bundesverband Professioneller Mobilfunk).
The Vice President of Business Development of Hytera Mobilfunk Deutschland GmbH was elected in the General Assembly on February 27, 2019.
He succeeds Dr. Klaus Hütten (e*Messages Wireless Information Services Deutschland GmbH), who did not run as a candidate this year and was named an honorary member in the meeting. Bernhard Klinger had already been his deputy since 2015. "I am pleased with the confidence of my colleagues in the association and I thank Klaus Hütten for the work he has done in the past years. I look forward to continuing on the path he laid out into the future for PMeV," says the new Executive Chairman Bernhard Klinger.
A specialist in professional mobile radio
With Bernhard Klinger as Executive Chairman, the PMeV can claim an acknowledged expert. After his studies in communications engineering, Bernhard Klinger began his professional career in 1987 in the technical field as a software developer for mobile communication systems. As Vice President of Business Development, he has been responsible since 2007 for business development at Hytera Mobilfunk, formerly Rohde & Schwarz Professional Mobile Radio. He can already look back on over 30 years of experience in professional mobile radio and has held various positions during this time, including many management positions in technology and application development, product management and sales.
PMeV – many years of close association
Hytera Mobilfunk and Bernhard Klinger are closely linked with PMeV. Hytera Mobilfunk and its predecessor companies have been continuously active in the executive board of PMeV since it was founded in 1999. The founder of the company and Managing Director for many years, Heinz Bick, is one of the founding fathers of PMeV, which is a Registered Association. As Executive Chairman he led PMeV for ten years, and has been an honorary member since 2009. Bernhard Klinger continues this dedication of Hytera Mobilfunk. In 2007 he became the Director of the Broadband specialist area in PMeV. This was followed by the assignment of Deputy Chairman in 2015 and now this year Executive Chairman of PMeV.

Bernhard Klinger plans to focus heavily in the future on supporting the path of professional secure communications in his work at PMeV, thereby further developing the importance of the PMR industry. Technologies are transforming and developing and that creates new challenges on the market. He emphasizes: "Only by presenting a united front will we have opportunities to influence impending technological and regulatory changes in our industry so that in the future as well we will be able to ensure secure communication for public officials, organizations and industry. PMeV must therefore be the initial starting point for all market participants."
