Hytera Donates Radio Communications Equipment to Support Rescue Operations In Indonesia

Shortly after the Indonesian earthquake and tsunami, Hytera donated communications equipment to Palang Merah Indonesia (PMI), the Indonesian Red Cross, and facilitated efficient collaboration in search, rescue and evacuation.

A magnitude-7.4 earthquake hit Indonesian Central Sulawesi, and caused destructive tsunami on September 28, 2018. According to the data from National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB), the earthquake and tsunami have caused enormous damage to local people and communities.

Shortly after the disaster, Hytera donated communications equipment to Palang Merah Indonesia (PMI), the Indonesian Red Cross, and facilitated efficient collaboration in search, rescue and evacuation.

“Our company has run business in Indonesia for more than ten years, we have lots of clients, partners and a team of local colleagues in here. we live on the same land and breathe the same air, so we feel the pain for people’s loss. It’s our obligation to serve local communities with our expertise. We hope the affected area could recover soon,” commented Jerry Gao, Country Manager of Hytera Indonesia.

The major earthquake caused cascading disasters. Tsunami, liquefaction and landslides triggered by the quake damaged electricity and public communication networks and roads.
