IWCE’s Critical LTE Communications Forum Concludes with Record Attendance

The business technology conference focused on mission-critical LTE network solutions, set an attendance record at its November event in Dallas, TX.

The conference brought together more than 200 critical communications professionals. The Forum offered three keynote presentations, eight sessions, a tech tour and networking with peers over the two-day program..

“With record breaking attendance, our event demonstrates the vital importance our content and networking opportunities are for our audience to do their jobs well. IWCE's Critical LTE Communications Forum is targeted to solutions vendors and carriers as well as enterprise, utilities and other critical infrastructure, government and public safety professionals. The conference examines the network solutions, applications and opportunities for enterprises and governments to transition to secure, reliable networks for voice and data within an LTE framework.

The event began with a Tech Tour of AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, where attendees accessed key areas in the facility and learned about some of the technology that is leveraged to ensure smooth operations during a game, concert or other events.

At the Welcome Reception presentation, “How Smart Cities Lead to Smarter Public Safety (and Beyond)”, a panel of industry consultants shared expertise on where smart cities will take us, as well as the broader technology’s impact on public safety.

FirstNet’s CEO Michael Poth, delivered the opening keynote address about FirstNet’s mission to bring communications across the country and Chris Sambar, Senior Vice President of AT&T’s FirstNet group, offered additional information on how important the network is to AT&T, what capabilities it will provide, and how preemption will work.

Additional presentations on the following topics were also featured during the Forum: Mission-Critical Push-to-Talk, FirstNet Interoperability with LMR and 911, FirstNet’s Functionality, Applications and Security and Innovation Ecosystem.

The closing keynote moderated by Donny Jackson, Editor, IWCE’s Urgent Communications brought together Robert LeGrande, II, Founder and CEO, The Digital Decision, LLC and Joe Ross, Senior Partner, Televate, LLC to provide insights on FirstNet, the states' viewpoints and other factors.
