Mobile communications experts from P3 communications recently successfully showcased the firm’s TETRA knowledge and capabilities in front of over 2,000 delegates from around the globe during the 2010 TETRA World Congress (TWC) in Singapore.

Speaking after the event, Dr. Martin Steppler, one of P3 communications' leading contributors to the German Federal Government’s national TETRA project, said: “We were pleased with the quality and quantity of enquiries taken on our exhibition stand at this year’s TWC, and took the opportunity to continue raising awareness of our abilities and services in TETRA and other mobile technologies.”

During the TWC conference, Tony Gray, P3 Middle East Regional Director, presented a paper on the opportunities for TETRA arising from the planned ‘Pan-Gulf Railway’, which is intended to link the countries of the Gulf region for the first time by rail. He also chaired a key plenary session focusing on the TETRA Inter-System Interface (ISI), during which he interviewed representatives of network operators from the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden and Serbia on the industry’s progress in developing the ISI. Addressing the conference on the subject, Tony Gray said: “The ISI is one of the few original promises of the ETSI TETRA standard that has yet to become a reality. It is now much sought-after and needed by TETRA operators, particularly in Europe, who have rolled out nationwide networks but have yet to satisfy their users’ requirements for cross-border operation and inter-system roaming functionality.”
